This is a guest post from Wellspring Living staff member, Erin Ritter.

This blog post is for the ladies – sorry guys! You can go here to see what you can do to help!

If you are reading this blog post, chances are, you are already in a place where you are curious about how you can be a part of the movement to end the crisis of human trafficking.

You may or may not be aware, but Wellspring Living has been around since 2001 addressing the issue of sexual abuse and exploitation of women and girls, and Wellspring Living has been recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in the field of human trafficking.

Here are a few more things that you may or may not know:

  • 100 adolescent girls are sold sexually every night in Atlanta
  • 7 years is the life expectancy of a girl forced into prostitution
  • 1 in 4 women is sexually abused
  • 90% of runaways become part of the sex trade industry – many within 72 hours of leaving home:

So now what? What do you do with that information? How can you make a difference? How can you be the change that these women and girls need?

I’m glad you asked. Wellspring Living is launching a new program this month called Circles of Giving. Circles of Giving is an opportunity for women in the city of Atlanta to do something to make a difference in the landscape of human trafficking, in our city. Right here in our backyards.  You and your friends will join together to make a “circle,” a circle of giving. You will learn about Wellspring Living, you will serve the women and girls of Wellspring Living and you will make an investment in Wellspring Living so that the mission can continue.

The nurturing and relational character of women is key in confronting multiple social issues. As we seek to confront the issue of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation, our desire is to make a significant impact on this issue.

What does that look like? You let me know you want to be a part of this program. You gather 8-10 of your girlfriends and together we educate them about this issue {See}.

You then find a volunteer opportunity that fits your circle and you get your hands dirty and physically serve the women and girls {Serve}.

Then, in the Spring of 2013, we – me, you, your circle and Wellspring Living’s president Mary Frances, will come together to talk about your experiences, share stories of Gods movement in the city of Atlanta, stories of redemption, hope, the future of the women and girls that you are investing in. At this time you will finalize your financial investment in the women and girls {Share}.

So are you in? Do you want to join us to See, Serve and Share ourselves with these women and girls? God has given us each unique Time, Talents and Treasures; lets share them with those in need.

“Every girl who enters Wellspring Living has had innocence stolen from her. When we tear down the walls created by trauma and abuse, however, we find what remains is the heart of a little girl.” -The White Umbrella
