Ever watched the news, read an article, or heard a story that stirred your heart and thought “I should do something?” The only problem was that you didn’t know what “something” was supposed to be or how to get started?
My job is to help you find it.
My name is Cindy Battles and I am the Volunteer Coordinator at Wellspring Living. Some of us have jokingly referred to my position as the “sorting hat,” but it’s actually a pretty accurate portrayal of my role here.
My day-to-day duties focus on connecting you, your passions and your experience to a volunteer opportunity at Wellspring Living. I’m here to help you on the path to “do something;” to make a difference, to do your part to end the exploitation of women and girls in Georgia, and to helping survivors know their value and how bright their futures can be.
God has crafted each of us in a unique way. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared for us to do.” He prepares us for those good works…He uses our experience, our talents, and our personalities. Some are uniquely gifted in such a way that they can tutor the girls and help them finish high school. Some have servant’s hearts and drive our women to job interviews, doctors’ visits and various other appointments. Others are gifted communicators and represent Wellspring Living at events through our Speaker’s Bureau. Others use their gift organizing and sorting at one of our Wellspring Treasures stores.
All of them are doing their part…their “something”…to make the work of Wellspring Living possible. Everything we do is possible because of our volunteers.
